How often have you heard someone say words are just words and it means little until those words are turned into action? When it comes to Nebraska football specifically, it feels like the one thing I’ve heard over and over leading up to a new season.

It’s reasonable too, because a coach or player can say just about anything. Until those words are backed up, well, they’re just words.

With that said, coach Matt Rhule is often far more direct in the words he chooses than sometimes we realize. As Nebraska prepares for its biggest test of its season so far against Colorado, I’d like to take a look at some of the recent comments from Rhule — as in from Saturday and Monday — and dive into the details a little more specifically.
