With Virginia Adriano, Nebraska has a legitimate battle at opposite hitter
A 6-foot-5 pro from Italy joins a roster already stacked with promise, and the battle for one key starting spot just became a must-watch.
Nebraska didn’t just land a high-upside recruit. It added a pro.
The Huskers made it official this week: Virginia Adriano, a 6-foot-5 opposite hitter from Turin, Italy, is joining Nebraska for the 2025 season. She comes with three years of NCAA eligibility, a long resume of international medals and real production in one of the top pro leagues in the world.
“Virginia is an opposite hitter with great size who has a ton of high-level international experience, and we are thrilled she wants to come overseas and play for Nebraska,” head coach Dani Busboom Kelly said in a statement. “Virginia is a well-balanced player in terms of her attack, block and serve.”
She’s also stepping directly into the highest-stakes position battle on Nebraska’s roster.
