As Big Ten Media Days come to a close today in Las Vegas, fall Saturdays are starting to feel close. And at Nebraska in 2025, fall Saturdays also include two Fridays and a Thursday.

“I don’t know if I necessarily love that,” Matt Rhule said this week, “but it is what it is.”

And so it is. The Huskers open the season on a Thursday in Kansas City against Cincinnati. Nebraska faces Minnesota in Minneapolis on a Friday in October before the traditional Black Friday game with Iowa to close the regular season.

This year again we’re a minus, eight days less rest than the teams we play. We pay attention to all that because it affects your practice week.”
