The highs and the lows for Nebraska heading into a big week
It's a big week for Nebraska volleyball, as the Huskers prepare to travel to Northwestern before facing No. 1 Wisconsin at home.
A big week is here for Nebraska volleyball. The Huskers are set for a Wednesday road match with Northwestern, and a top-5 matchup with No. 1 Wisconsin at the Devaney Sports Center Saturday night.
Nebraska — ranked second behind the Badgers — is currently 17-0 on the season (and 8-0 in the Big Ten) following an important win over No. 13 Penn State on Saturday. Despite getting down early in the second set, the Huskers rallied back and took control to sweep the match, 25-22, 25-22, 25-19. Nebraska’s win handed Penn State its first Big Ten loss of the season, and set the Huskers up for what’s ahead.
“We always say any win in the Big Ten — especially getting later into the season — is good so I think this win was pretty special for us,” libero Lexi Rodriguez said Saturday night. “It’s always a rivalry with Penn State. And then just being on the road and then our past five matches haven’t really been how we know how to play, so I think this win kind of was a good step in the right direction for how we want to play in the next coming weeks.”
It feels like we already know a lot about who the Huskers are, but this week feels like an opportunity to learn even more.
Settle in.
