Matt Rhule was in Scotland golfing with his son when the news broke. Athletic director Trev Alberts was leaving Lincoln for the same role at Texas A&M.
As Rhule processed the information, he sent a text. On the other end of that message was Jordan Litten, a creative media specialist for the Nebraska football team. Rhule told Litten he wanted a video set to Paul Harvey’s poem “So God Made A Farmer.”
“Put some Husker stuff on this please,” Rhule asked.
The video debuted on Twitter at 6:30 p.m., about an hour after the Alberts news became official.
