So God made a farmer, and it was Matt Rhule's message to Nebraska

Matt Rhule was in Scotland golfing with his son when the news broke. He only knew of one way to respond when words were hard to come by.

Matt Rhule was in Scotland golfing with his son when the news broke. Athletic director Trev Alberts was leaving Lincoln for the same role at Texas A&M.

As Rhule processed the information, he sent a text. On the other end of that message was Jordan Litten, a creative media specialist for the Nebraska football team. Rhule told Litten he wanted a video set to Paul Harvey’s poem “So God Made A Farmer.”

“Put some Husker stuff on this please,” Rhule asked.

The video debuted on Twitter at 6:30 p.m., about an hour after the Alberts news became official.
