Signing day 101 and more for Nebraska
With only a day (or less, depending on when you read this) until the early signing period begins, let's dive into what we know and don't know ahead of the big day.
Dylan Raiola — the five-star quarterback recruit — flipped his commitment from Georgia to Nebraska on Monday afternoon. In the first 45 minutes his tweet was live, it had been viewed one million times.
“In a weekend’s decision, destiny calls. To fulfill his purpose, where a new dynasty enthralls,” the final line of Raiola’s tweet read.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound quarterback is the son of Dominic Raiola — a Husker legend — and the nephew of Nebraska o-line coach Donovan Raiola. He is Nebraska’s first five-star recruit since I-back Aaron Green in 2011, and the highest-ranked recruit to pick Nebraska since ESPN started ranking high school players in 2006.
Over the past three years, Raiola has been enrolled in three different high schools. The most recent stop was Buford High School in Georgia, which went 11-2 in 2023. As for Raiola, he racked up 8,442 yards and 88 touchdowns over the past three seasons.
With only a day (or less, depending on when you read this) until the early signing period begins, Raiola’s flip kicks off what is expected to be an impressive recruiting class for coach Matt Rhule and the Huskers.
So, what’s ahead? Any more surprises? Names to know?
Let’s dive in.
