Saturday marks the final home game of the season for Nebraska football. It’s also Senior Day, a celebration of players who’ve devoted themselves to the program.

This year carries a bit of a bittersweet edge to it too, as the evolving realities of college football — shaped by roster limits and the transfer portal — redefine what it means to be a member of any college football program.

Nebraska faces Wisconsin on Saturday with high stakes on the field — bowl eligibility remains — but there’s a broader narrative to be told about the players who will run out of the tunnel one last time and the future of Nebraska’s roster.
