Trev Alberts was preparing for an all-staff meeting on Wednesday with the Nebraska athletic department. The deck of slides — including financial information — sat on his desk ready to be shared.

There was a time when coaches and members of Nebraska’s athletic department weren’t always looped in on everything going on. That’s not what Alberts wants. He’s all about transparency and helping those he works with understand the realities of where Nebraska is right now.

He’ll tell you that some of that can be uncomfortable. However, he’s a firm believer that it’s better to be honest. That way everyone has the best understanding of where the Nebraska athletic department sits at any given time.

That’s especially important now. From the new Memorial Stadium upgrades to the world of NIL and beyond, there’s always something to be thinking about. Nebraska wants to stay on the forefront, but transparency is key and Alberts is an open book.

I sat down with Alberts earlier this week for a number of stories you’ll see in the coming weeks, but that wasn’t all. We put that open book belief to the test, as Alberts agreed to answer a few questions from our readers.

Here are those questions and answers (edited for clarity).
