Summer has officially arrived in Lincoln. The start of June means three things in the world of college football: camps, conditioning and commits.

Nebraska football officially welcomed its players back to campus this past Sunday. That included returning veterans, early enrollees and summer arrivals. 

Coach Matt Rhule and his staff are running a full slate of strength training, OTA-style workouts and summer conditioning. It’s a demanding schedule and it’s by design.

That same schedule is structured to maximize the overlap with Nebraska’s recruiting efforts, especially on weekends. June is now Nebraska’s most active month when it comes to recruiting. That’s not just for the 2026 class but for long-term evaluations in 2027 and beyond. 

Rhule isn’t putting his coaches on the road for satellite camps this summer. Instead, the focus is on bringing the talent to Lincoln.
