Nebraska is in the hunt in the B1G West, no matter how it looks

A brief recap of the week that was in the Big Ten: Wisconsin waltzed past Purdue Friday but may have lost its second-leading rusher for the season, Rutgers is no longer undefeated because Michigan remains an optimized football factory, Nebraska beat Louisiana Tech with its B or C game, Illinois put up 500 yards but only beat Florida Atlantic by six, Maryland remains undefeated and Michigan State (twice an underdog) has fallen short of the spread by an average of 16 points in two games without Mel Tucker, Ohio State scored with 1 second left to win at Notre Dame, Northwestern scored with 2 seconds left to complete a 21-point comeback against Minnesota, Penn State shut out Iowa but was generous enough to allow the Hawkeyes four first downs and Indiana needed four overtimes to beat Akron.
Where does all that leave us now that, minus a stray nonconference mismatch or two, we’re into the heart of Big Ten play?
