Two days after Nebraska walked out of the Rose Bowl with another road win, head coach Matt Rhule tried to reset the national conversation. Standing in front of the media for his Monday availability, Rhule held up printed paper like a lawyer entering evidence.
“I personally believe Emmett Johnson should be in New York,” Rhule said.
He didn’t make his case — typed out over two pages — just because Johnson had the two-way game at UCLA that broke Big Ten records. He did so because at 7-3 and entering the second bye week of the season, much of Rhule’s roster is playing its best football.
