Is QB settled and other Nebraska bye week thoughts
As Jeff Sims gets healthy, does he return as Nebraska's starting quarterback? Will Heinrich Haarberg retain the role after four weeks?
It’s a bye week for Nebraska football, so we’re going to talk about Nebraska football to get the week started.
Having now had a couple of days to process Nebraska’s 20-7 win over Illinois, I have some thoughts. Well, more thoughts than those I had immediately following the game on Friday.
Let’s start with one quick comment from coach Matt Rhule though.
“We’re 3-3, we’re going to hit the bye week, we’re going to come out each week, we’re going to play each week, it’s not going to be perfect,” Rhule said in Champaign. “I just hope people instead of just jumping ahead to what we’re going to be, I just kind of hope they enjoy this ride.”
Yes, Rhule wants us to enjoy the moment. Nebraska is 3-3 and a bowl game is still on the table at this point. But what fun would it be if we didn’t evaluate at least a little football while we wait for another game week to return?
Also, stick around until the end of this newsletter. You’ll see why.
