Is it time to panic on the recruiting trail?
Nebraska's current numbers rank near the bottom of its power-conference peers, but are they that different from the Huskers' usual pace?
The recruiting trail giveth and it taketh away.
After landing 4-star offensive lineman Hayden Ainsworth to start the week, Nebraska lost the highest-rated commit in its class, Florida speedster CJ Bronaugh. The latter outcome wasn’t a huge surprise. Bronaugh, who has seen his star rise throughout the recruiting process, took official visits to Florida, Nebraska and Florida State in recent weeks.
On Tuesday, he flipped to the Gators.
Bronaugh’s change of heart made for some ugly looking numbers here in the last recruiting week in the pivotal month of June. 247Sports ranked Nebraska’s class 76th nationally on June 18. Only five power-conference teams ranked lower—Virginia, Missouri, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and Colorado—and none of those are in the Big Ten.
