Maybe they could have a fan participation event to generate revenue? There would be some liability issues to overcome... But, for example, have a couple track/shuttle courses set up with lights or a virtual screen (best choice) that show relative position so you can "run against" current/past Huskers players.
Maybe do similar for baseball pitchers? Stand in against previous pitchers arsenal? Even if you knew what was coming it would be crazy hard. If you had a person behind the plate changing type and location of the pitch?!?!?!!!
Next year the portal rules may have changed. Also the 105 limit may be for fall camp only allowing tryouts during spring ball. Just building some excitement for even a scrimmage among people trying to make the team would still bring a lot of people. I think Rhule honored the kids that have labored in the dark. The world is not better for forcing an end to their dreams.
For sure. I don't fault Rhule for changing the format and adding back in the scrimmage at all. I think it was the right move. I just think those around the program helping build the event can help better communicate changes and the plan for those hoping to attend.
Heck, I'd think some talks from the strength coach etc about workouts and nutrition would be attended well?
