Nebraska started summer conditioning on Wednesday, June 5. Roughly two weeks later, the Huskers are fully in the thick of things.

Strength and conditioning coach Corey Campbell met with the media last week, sharing some insight into Nebraska’s training schedule over the summer. A lot of attention had been paid to the Huskers’ new training facility through this — and rightfully so because it’s very impressive — but that’s not the only thing Campbell sees benefitting this team in 2024.

“. . . In Year 1, it was a lot of building the culture. As coaches, showing them what we wanted,” Campbell said. “But now going into Year 2, they have a very thorough understanding of that culture and what that standard is. 

“We look forward now to being more player-led.”

Let’s dive into the specifics of how summer conditioning works, and how Nebraska is using it this summer to best prepare its athletes for fall.
