College football’s 12-team playoff era, which has yet to begin, may be short-lived. According to a report from Heather Dinich and Pete Thamel of ESPN Wednesday, “momentum” is building for a 14-team playoff starting in 2026, the first year of the new television deal for the College Football Playoff.
